Treatment Options
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is integral to recovery from an eating disorder. My approach is person-centred, flexible, and supportive. Once we’ve completed an initial assessment, I can discuss with you the most effective treatment models available for your individual case.
COVID-19 Update: I am available both in-person and via telehealth video calls. Social distancing measures and extra hygiene precautions are in place for the safety of those preferring in-person sessions.
Cost Per Session | $320 Initial Consultation (80min)
Cost Per Session | $240 Subsequent Sessions (50min)
Medicare offers a rebate of $131.65 per session for up to 40 sessions per year.
Group Therapy
Group therapy is increasingly recognised as an imperative part of healing from an eating disorder. Groups can dissolve isolation, untie shame, and foster meaningful connections. Being heard and seen by others who are experiencing similar challenges can help people understand they are not alone. Our group therapy program aims to build a support network and provide you with insights and skills that can help both throughout and beyond recovery.
Groups are closed and content is tailored to the needs and interests of group members.
Groups will be led by Dr Franzisca Froreich (Clinical Psychologist). You may access the group therapy program whether you are in individual therapy at ED Hub or elsewhere. The group meets every Monday 4pm-5.30pm. Please contact us for more meeting information and to register for the next group.
Cost - 10 weeks | $50 per session
If you have a Mental Health Care Plan you will be eligible to a Medicare rebate of $37.80 per session.
Family Therapy
Family-based treatment (also known as the Maudsley method) is the leading treatment for child and adolescent eating disorders. Treatment involves the whole family and focuses on empowering parents as a crucial treatment resource to assist in their child’s recovery. Families aren’t blamed for the disorder; on the contrary, parents are viewed as the experts on their child, an essential part of the solution, and members of the treatment team.
This treatment is manualised and is conducted over a 9-12 month period.
Although family-based treatment may not be for every family, research shows that it is highly effective and faster to act than many other treatments.
Helping to play an active part in your child’s recovery can be a very rewarding experience.
Cost Per Session: $240-$320. Cost varies dependant on session duration
Medicare offers a rebate of $129.55 per session for up to 40 sessions per year.
