3 Day Recovery Retreat

Have you done a lot of hard work in eating disorder treatment, are no longer engaging in unhelpful behaviours, and find yourself asking, “And now what?”.

Symptoms are under control, people around you are relieved, and yet you feel lost, lonely, unhappy, and unable to integrate back into everyday life.

Or have you struggled with emotional eating for years – numbing your feelings with food and disliking your body – and never had a real chance to focus on healing?

Coming Home to Yourself is the chance to get the help that’s been missing and that you deserve.

– The Offering –

Coming Home to Yourself is a recovery – and life – boosting retreat to guide and support your journey of reconnection with your Authentic Self. Gain clarity on your passions and life purpose and start crafting a meaningful, abundant, and fulfilling life.

Developed and co-facilitated by Dr Franzisca Froreich, Clinical Psychologist and Director of ED Hub, and Martina Carosi, Founder of Moonwise, certified yoga instructor and Teacher of Women’s Mysteries, this weekend will provide wisdom and practical tools to transform that oh-so-complicated relationship with food, body, and self. Gather with other women who can relate and understand your struggles, support and empower you as you embark on this deep dive of self-discovery.

– The Venue –

Only 90 minutes drive from Sydney, Yanada Bush Retreat sits just outside the historic village of St Albans in the idyllic McDonald Valley. Adjoining Yengo National Park, this is the southern tip of Darkinjung country with Mount Yengo at its heart. This place is hidden and remote, known since the first European settlement as the Forgotten Valley.

The drive itself is beautiful. From Sydney, once you leave the M2 and Pennant Hills Road you will follow the original convict-built route. The Old North Road takes you along the Dural ridge with stunning Blue Mountain views, through Marramarra National Park and down into Wiseman's Ferry, set on a picturesque loop in the Hawkesbury river system. Cross the free Webbs Creek vehicular ferry, then along the McDonald Valley, with steep sandstone cliffs and the meandering river, to Yanada.

This is the perfect location to restore body and mind, and connect with yourself and the life you desire.

– Facilitators –

Dr Franzisca Froreich

Francesca is a passionate clinical psychologist specialised in treating eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns with over 10 years experience researching and working in the field. She is the Director of ED Hub, a focused eating disorder practice recognised as a leading provider of outpatient treatment in Australia. She has published in various international peer-reviewed journals and completed a PhD in eating disorders. Francesca’s career choice was inspired by her own struggle with an eating disorder and experience of recovery. She is a firm believer and advocate of achieving a full, wholistic recovery, not just symptom improvement or weight restoration. She wholeheartedly beliefs that recovery is ALWAYS possible, and ALWAYS worth it. Her goal in treatment is to empower clients to reconnect with their inner, true self and reclaim their lives.

“I know how it feels when everything you think and do is ruled by thoughts of food and weight, that often feel out of your control. I also know how wonderful and joyful life is on the other side of your illness.” - Francesca

Martina Carosi

Martina has been a yoga teacher for 12 years and she loves how yoga delivers the full package of physical, mental and spiritual health. She works with vinyasa yoga, a dynamic practice that connects one posture to the next using the rhythm of the breath, and also slower styles, where there is time to explore the more subtle aspects of the practice, using breathwork and meditation techniques.

Martina is especially passionate about the mysteries of the sacred feminine, the powerful nature of women and creating soulful communities in the ancient form of Women’s Circles. She is a graduate of the 2-year course run by the School of Shemanic Womencraft, founded by Jane Hardwicke Cowlings. When she isn’t teaching yoga, Martina creates and facilitates workshops on Shamanic drumming and journeying, and women’s rites of passage (menarche, childbirth, menopause) with a particular focus on the magical and spiritual aspects of these transitions, including how they connect with the natural cycles around us. Martina’s vision is to invite more and more women to explore their true nature, remember their divine aspects and find connection and empowerment with one another.

“Learning how to live deeply
Each moment of our daily life
Is our true practice” - Thich Nhat Hanh
