Hello, I’m Franzisca “Francesca” a clinical psychologist specialised in treating eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns with over 10 years experience researching and working in the field. I live on the Northern Beaches in Sydney, with my husband and three young boys.

I have worked with children, adolescents, families and adults in a variety of settings such as:

  • Private practice

  • Inpatient eating disorder unit

  • Eating disorder day programme

  • Not-for-profit organisation specialising in eating disorders

I have received specialised eating disorder training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Family Based Treatment (FBT, also known as the Maudsley Approach). I also incorporate elements from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, intuitive eating, and Health at Every Size in my practice.

My clinical practice is influenced by my own lived experience. I had an eating disorder in my teenage years, the recovery from which was one of the most difficult but also most rewarding journeys I have been on to date. Everyone’s recovery is different, however I believe that having experienced at least some of the things my clients are going through helps me develop a higher level of understanding, empathy, and connection.

I have published several articles in international eating disorder journals and completed a PhD which investigated issues of control in eating disorders and how addressing them could enhance current treatment efforts.

Eating Disorder Hub specialises in:

• Bulimia Nervosa

My Approach

I am a firm believer and advocate of achieving a full, wholistic recovery, not just symptom improvement or weight restoration. It might be difficult to imagine or believe this when you are under the spell of the eating disorder, but recovery is ALWAYS possible, and ALWAYS worth it. My goal is to empower clients to reconnect with their inner, true self and reclaim their lives.

I would love to go on this journey with you.
